The pressure nail industry is thriving, which is a blessed thing. Today, thanks to the imminent launch of Inked by Dani x Nails by Mei tattoos, the world of DIY manicure is about to take a whole new level.
If you’re not familiar, Inked by Dani is the temporary tattoo brand founded by Dani Egna whose intricate designs have graced members of stars like Bella Hadid and Kourtney Kardashian. And manicure enthusiasts have probably heard of Mei Kawajiri aka Nails by Mei for the stunning nail art she created for Gigi Hadid and RosalÃa. With the two creatives joining forces, they decided to launch a range of nail art tattoos – the perfect combination of the skills of Egna and Kawajiri.
What exactly is a nail art tattoo? Well, these are hand drawn designs that you dab on your nails like temporary tattoos. (If you grew up in the 90s or early 2000s, there’s a good chance you’ve tried the avant-garde body art accessory before.) Limited-edition co-designed capsule features artwork of Kawajiri that will bring you all the nostalgia – think butterflies, aliens, hearts, bubble letters and smiley faces from the 2000 era, to name a few. When you purchase the nail art – which will officially launch on November 1 – you’ll also receive temporary tattoos for your face and body, so you can really get into your ink party.
We only include products that have been independently selected by the Bustle editorial team. However, we may receive a portion of the sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article.
Applying nail tattoos is incredibly easy – they work just like temporary tattoos do. Simply cut out the design you want, stick it on your nail bed, and use the star-shaped sponge (included in the kit) when wet to transfer the tattoo to your manicure. Finish by applying a layer of clear top coat (which you will also receive with the stickers) to seal it. You can also dab nail tattoos on a gel manicure for a chic design that will last even longer.
If you are feeling naked without nail art at your fingertips, these tattoos are your 60 second solution to improving your home manicure game. I was able to test the creations during the collaboration launch event, and I can confirm that the stickers are so simple to apply … and they have garnered countless compliments.
