The Pioneros team will redevelop Chicago’s iconic building, Pioneer Bank, in Humboldt Park.

Led by JGMA and Park Row Development with All Construction Group, the team will rehabilitate the vacant bank building and parking lot with affordable housing, business incubation space, Latino cultural center and office space.

The 0.304 ha (0.75 acre) parking lot north of the bank is expected to be redeveloped with a 100% affordable, nine-story 75-unit building, as well as offices for Humboldt Park Family Health and a possible library branch.

JGMA will also move its headquarters from River North into the development to become the primary tenant.

“The Team Pioneros project at Humboldt Park is not only a pioneer for Chicago, but it is also a pioneer for an entire industry, as 100% of our teams are made up of companies owned by Latinos and Latinos in development. , construction, design and engineering all come together to work on a transformational community project, ”said Juan Gabriel Moreno, President of JGMA.

Park Row Development Director Luis Puig added, “Together we are not new to the Humboldt Park community. This team has worked for decades on more than 30 projects for Chicago’s Latin community, further strengthening our long-standing commitment to the city.
